Meet Debra Elliot
For
those of you who I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting let me
introduce myself? My name is Debra Elliot and I am now serving as the
Maintenance Manager in St Martin’s Estate Office as a full time member
of staff. With the onset of winter where everyone turns on their
central heating for the first time, and the downfall of rain after a
summer of drought this is always deemed to be a very busy time in the
world of maintenance.
I know
that it always seems as if new staff, changes the direction, or way in
which people are familiar with. I can however assure you that any
changes made will be to help improve the service.
I am
one of a handful of new staff and although it can take a while to get
used to seeing new faces around, and getting familiar with the different
ways that people work, I would like you to bare with us, because as the
words of the song go ‘things can only get better’.
Are you Green Fingered?
We are looking for residents who have an interest in
gardening to work with us on improving certain areas on the estate.
Would you be keen to get involved in an environmental project? If so,
please get in touch with me to discuss the project in more detail.

HOME
CONTENTS INSURANCE
Following discussions with tenants, whilst carrying out inspections I
thought it necessary to highlight the importance of taking out Contents
Insurance in order to cover your possessions.
Have
you ever thought what will happen if you had a burglary or flood? How
would you replace your possessions? Or, even worse, should you suffer a
fire, how would you re-equip your home and put right the decoration? If
you live in a flat you could also be liable if you cause damage to a
neighbour’s property.
A
contents policy covers just about everything you would take with you if
you moved, furniture, household equipment, frozen food and drink,
televisions, video, computer and audio equipment and personal items.
Also remember items such as CD’s and videos, as their collective cost is
often under estimated. It all soon adds up, whether your wardrobe is
full of jeans or designer suits, make sure you include the cost of
replacement.
Home
insurance can protect you and your family from damages to your home, its
contents or even from financial liability if someone outside of your
household is injured and you are found to be responsible. Taking the
time now to understand home insurance will help you to fend off
potential financial misfortune in the future.
It is
easy to get Insurance information through Banks, Building Societies and
through the Internet or the Post Office.
